In addition to my work as an academic and an investigative journalist, I am sometimes approached to take on consultancy assignments, drawing on my areas of expertise.

These primarily draw on my investigative and research skills, and my ability to produce expert analysis integrating advanced business and polititcal intelligence. I have a strong track record of researching and/or breaking a number of major national and international stories, and was shortlisted by the Press Gazette for the 2020 British Journalism Awards, in the category of “Best Investigation”, and the Society of Editors’ Media Freedom Award for National Campaign of the Year in 2022; and was part of the team that won the 2022 British Journalism Award for “Best Campaign”.

In addition, I have been engaged by a number of private members’ clubs worldwide, both old and new, to offer consultancy around everything from club history and cultural capital, to “clubonomics“ - a term I first coined.
